Public companies bought more Bitcoin than ETFs for the third quarter in a row, signaling a growing corporate embrace of the cryptocurrency.

2025-07-01

This represents a strategic move to diversify portfolios and attract investors. Corporate Bitcoin holdings now account for roughly 4% of the total supply, compared to 6.8% held by ETFs. However, the gap is narrowing; corporations added approximately 131,000 BTC (an 18% increase) in Q2 2026, surpassing the 8% growth in ETF holdings (111,000 BTC).

ETFs still control the largest share (over 1.4 million BTC, or 6.8% of the total), but corporate adoption is rapidly increasing.

This trend reversed briefly in Q3 2024 before resuming its upward trajectory.
